Students  need to check their plan for the European part of the program as there will be extra charges.  Calls to Europe tend to be highly expensive and students need to be well informed.  A good option would be to register for Skype.  With Skype, students will be able to do voice and video calls free of charge.  go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/home for more information.
